No Job, No Food!
It could've been me with no clothes
No shoes and no food to eat
It could've been me, without Your love
Lord, tell me where would I be?
It could've been!
Lyrics from Kirk Franklin's song Could've Been, are so true. In the shadows of Covid-19, many of us are right now, 1 paycheck away from losing it all. Many are already experiencing the losses. No job, no food, can't pay rent, perhaps a sick family member. So if you're blessed enough to still have income, and food, and a healthy family, be grateful! It could be you.
Friends let us not forget those who need us. The elderly grandmother taking care of babies, the family who a few weeks ago had 2 incomes, and now there's none. The children whose only meals were those received at school. The single mom or dad that was already trying to make ends meet working 2 part-time jobs. It could be me. It could be you.
If you're in a position to help, do it! The numbers are high, resources are low, but do what you can. In the words of Mother Teresa, "if you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." We are in this together.
